And here’s a key point! When security is active, detecting an opening will trigger an alarm. However, the sensor can be used for smart home, too—for example, when a window is opened, Smart HUB will temporarily turn off the heating in that room. Similarly, the light in the foyer can turn on when you open the front door upon entering the house.
Works in harsh environment
This device can be placed inside a special, hermetic enclosure OPX-1, allowing you to install Opening Detector outside the building—for example, to monitor a gate or even your mailbox. It’s necessary to include the also hermetically sealed OPXM-1 magnet. Opening Detector is useful not only in protection mode, where an alarm is triggered if someone unauthorized opens the gate, but you can also take advantage of its automation features. For instance, you can automate outdoor functions like turning on the driveway lights as soon as the gate is opened.
